Privacy

Short version: this site measures nothing unless you allow it. A small banner asks once; if you decline, or simply never answer, Google Analytics does not run, no analytics cookies are set and the site works exactly the same. You can change your mind at the bottom of this page.

Who runs this site

This site is run by Adam Tibi, an individual based in London, United Kingdom. For everything described on this page, I am the data controller. There is no company or team behind this site. I decide why and how the data described here is used.

Analytics, only with your permission

With your consent, I use Google Analytics 4 to understand what is worth writing more of: which pages get read, roughly how long readers stay, which country a visit comes from, how you arrived here, for example from a search engine, LinkedIn or another link, and whether you have visited before.

That is the full list. There is no advertising on this site, I do not use the analytics data for advertising or sell it, and Google processes the measurements as the analytics provider. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store individual IP addresses.

If you allow analytics, Google Analytics sets cookies named “_ga” and similar. They can last for up to two years and are used here to distinguish a returning browser from a new one. If you decline, the analytics script is never loaded, nothing is measured by Google Analytics and no analytics cookie is set.

What this site stores regardless

Two small preferences are stored in your own browser: your light-or-dark theme choice and your answer to the consent banner, so I do not keep asking you the same question.

Neither is used for tracking and neither is sent anywhere.

The host

This site is hosted on Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps. Like any web-hosting platform, Azure has to handle standard request information, including an IP address, timestamp and the page requested, in order to deliver the site and protect the service.

I do not use that platform information to build readership reports and I do not link it to the Google Analytics data.

Your rights

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union, data protection law gives you rights over personal data held about you, including rights to access it, have inaccurate information corrected and, in some circumstances, have it deleted or object to how it is used.

I would rather be straight with you about what that means here than recite the list and leave it.

This site has no accounts, no sign-up and no comment box. Nothing on it asks for your name. Google Analytics does not give me your name or a direct way to identify you either.

So in almost every case there is genuinely very little individual information for me to look up, hand back or erase. That is not because I would refuse a request; it is because the site was deliberately built not to collect much in the first place.

The control that actually makes the immediate difference is the consent choice below, and it stays yours to change.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In the United Kingdom that is the Information Commissioner’s Office; in the European Union it is the supervisory authority for the country you live in. You are welcome to raise a problem with me first, but you do not have to.

You can change your answer at any time. Withdrawing consent stops future Google Analytics collection from this site. The button below clears your stored choice and asks you again.

Cookies that Google Analytics previously set while consent was active can also be removed through your browser’s cookie settings.

If what the site does changes, this page changes with it and the date below moves. There is no mailing list to notify, so the date is the honest signal: if it has not moved, nothing here has.
